It's been a long time developing in my mind, since I started trying for a baby nearly ten years ago.

I hear this from women every day of the week, it is so frustrating when someone says this while she is constantly searching for answers as to why it isn't happening. I never tell a woman to relax, she can't! Instead trying to help manage your mindset and feeling that you are being proactive can make a huge difference. By making a plan of action and implementing 20 mins a day for meditation, mindfulness or breathing can help keep stress at bay.

PAUSE is designed to calm the mind so the body can be more informed with the heart.  This 5 day journey teaches us that if we can sit with ourselves, then we can sit with the entire world and what it's presenting.

Each day we meditate around a theme which will help grow our capacity for attention in all areas of our life.  Our body knows how to heal, but the energy of our thought patterns and beliefs truly embed themselves into our bodies, making us experience exactly what we think.

This course teaches us how to recognize your own guidance system and use it effectively, moment by moment. How you feel matters.  It's your indication of your alignment or misalignment.  Of your allowing or of your resisting.

The course will give you space to really have a look at the thought patterns and beliefs that we've been living, how to shift how we currently deal with our emotions and uncover unconscious behavior and bullshit stories that make us feel stuck.


What we share with others is our own inner state.  What are you sharing with the world?

This course is for you if you have never meditated AND it's for you if meditation is a regular practice of yours. This 5 day course in meditation allows us to gain new insight, new tools and techniques, and new perspectives. It becomes a direct experience beyond our own individual thinking.

This four week foundational meditation course offers a clear and practical approach to starting up or deepening meditation practice. It covers the key areas which form the basis of a meditation practice.

Over the four weeks participants will learn about and explore these key aspects, as well as begin or deepen their ‘at home’ meditation practice. Each session includes meditation practice and related teachings to the practice and an opportunity to share your experiences if you wish in a safe and supportive environment. Participants are expected to practice meditation between sessions and come to the course prepared to discuss their experience if they wish in a safe and supportive environment.

How This Works

Commit to 30 days of meditation practice and receive support from me, and a community of people making their own commitment to practice. Every few days you will get another audio recording of a short talk delivered via an email newsletter, answers to burning questions about meditation, and a new technique to explore. I do not send an email every day as I want you to have time to work with the techniques and do not want to overwhelm your inbox either.

What Techniques Will We Use?

I will introduce a variety of meditation techniques over the course of the program. You can use these as you like, or simply choose one to focus on for the entire program. Some of the techniques we will explore will be-

  • Using personal intention as point of focus

  • Using the breath as a tool

  • Using internal repetition of Mantra

  • Working with physical sensation

  • Working with simple visualization

  • Using Japa Mantra (with or without a Mala string)

  • Working with strong emotions

  • Loving Kindness or Metta meditations

What If I’ve Never Done Meditation Before?

You do not need any previous experience for this simple program. I will provide the basic info and we will have a community forum for troubleshooting as well. But honestly we tend to over-complicate meditation and I will not be asking you to sit for hours every day, just a minimum of five minutes.

Anyone can do this! This program is for those who want to begin, or re-inspire a daily. This program is for anyone who wants to begin or re-inspire a practice of daily practice of meditation, and I will provide a number of resources to support you in establishing a personal practice of meditation that works for you.

What Is The Challenge?

To meditate each day of the 30 day period for a minimum of 5 minutes. That’s all! You are of course welcome to meditate more, but the invitation here is to make a commitment daily for a minimum period of time and to start to build some momentum and regularity with your practice. Most people say not having enough time is the greatest obstacle to meditation. Or being too busy. Or getting too restless. Starting with just 5 minutes a day lets you bypass all that resistance and you will see that 5 minutes a day for 30 days really can make a difference in how you feel.

Why Are We Starting On A New Moon?

Working with the lunar rhythms can add another layer of support to our commitment to practice. The new moon is a time of new beginnings and is ideal for setting intentions that are in alignment with our deepest desires. It also allows us to tap into a larger cycle of energy that can support us as we make our commitment to ourselves for a 30 day period.

Can I Do The Course Next Month Instead?

I run this course as a 30 day live program, not as a downloadable package you can purchase and do on your own. I do this so that I can offer my support via the forum and Q&A recordings. I also do it this way so that we can all tap into the support of knowing a group of people are going through the program at the same time, because even if those people may live on the other side of the world from you, it does help to know that others are doing the work at the same time you are.

Group Hypnobirthing Courses in York:  

When to attend?

I recommend that you begin your hypnobirthing course anytime after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Really the more practice you do the better! But you can attend up to 36/37 weeks, it's never too late! My group hypnobirthing course includes 10 hours of teaching, lots of homework to practice, and lots of brilliant extras too - to really get you engaged and help to make your pregnancy as positive as possible (more about those below). You also get the ongoing support of both myself and the group to give you lots of motivation throughout your pregnancy through a dedicated Facebook group. It also gives you a lovely network of like-minded mums (and dads) after baby is born, which is really worth its weight in gold.

The groups are kept lovely and small to maximise your experience and learning, and so the group courses often get booked up 4-6 weeks in advance. So I would really recommend booking early to avoid disappointment and missing out. If the course you would like to do is already full, please drop me an email as sometimes I can add extra dates or add you to the waiting list.

Hypnobirthing Private Course in York


The private hypnobirthing course costs from £400, and this includes a space for both you and your birth partner. It also includes your own copy of the hypnobirthing book, three mp3's to use during and after the course and all the extras above. The course can be tailored in time and duration to suit your individual needs, and fit in at a time to suit you. This can be done in the comfort of your own home at a time to suit you both. Great for busy people to fit in with schedules, or people who want to focus on specific areas, fears or concerns.

Hypnobirthing Refresher Courses in and around York

If you have already completed a hypnobirthing course (perhaps with a previous pregnancy) and would just like a little refresher and a top up, I am delighted to offer this to you too.
